This evening, while waiting for Emily to return from Jamaica, I watched “for the Bible tells me so.” It was a beautiful look at the modern creation of homophobia through Christianity.
And it makes me think: what a waste. Hatred is a waste of time. I look forward to the day when I can walk into Church with a man and our Children and raise them as my parents did me.
Ruth agrees.

Like a hard hitting journalist. Just kidding. But ask me something if you want, I’m just netflix-ing.
Life has changed, not ended.
Good Morning, Elmhurst
I am sitting in my bed with Ruth-e at my feet. We are watching the snow fall and listening to Christina sing Video Games. We agree that we like it better than the original.
Simultaneously I am drinking bold coffee that way meps makes it, and looking for ways to avoid opening my backpack. Today Kari and I will be visiting somewhere and having an adventure. Tomorrow, Emily comes home with Jam 5,...
I'm not going to be living for more than 115...
..So I have absolutely no time to play the “we’re friends-we’re not friends game”. With anyone. Let’s just be friends all of the time.
Peace bros and ladies.

The three things I am giving up for lent:
-Maple Syrup
-Peppermint Patties
-Coca-cola
Don’t laugh I can do this. I am posting this so I feel more pressure to follow through.
I will also be trying to go to mass more than once a week (friends can join me).
I don't give a damn about my bad reputation.
Painting
I am wicked excited about today because Ben and I will be painting some of my dad’s properties, (the interiors). He is the executive of an affordable housing organization, so we get to have a part in working with a non-profit who directly impacts Providence in a positive way. Because I am interested in doing this for a living, doing this work for three days is a blessing.

Smithing
It is a Smith sibling outing day. This means that we will be congregating at Patriot place with Lisa, Jill, Dave, and additionally Lisa’ sisters. We will be doing the current five wits adventure and lunching at Red Robin. While I am stoked to go I am getting inconveniently nostalgic about stuff.

Philosophical Question of the Day
Why doesn’t the consecration occur at the beginning of the Mass Service for Catholics? If it is the transubstantiation that is the focal point of mass, and not the Homily, it could make better sense for it to occur at the start of the service. Afterwards mass can go on as usual, but perhaps some of the more bombastic priests would be a little less self-important when preaching in the...
Jammin
The Jam kids are Jammin. Today they touched down safe and sound in Montego Bay, and they will have stories of people I have not met. Can’t wait.
In the meantime, I feel like Easter should be coming up but I have to wait two more months!
I just saw Chronicle with Ben at the Lincoln Cinema and would recommend it, and also seeing 1989 cult-classic Akira, as the films are one in the...

The letter "T"
I wish I knew a transgender individual. I know of some, and met the relative of a friend once who was transgender, but that is the limit of my connection. People lump me into the acronym LGBT (I don’t necessarily mind the label) but the “T” portion is nearly alien to me.
What must it be like to feel like you were born in the wrong body? It must be excruciatingly frustrating. I...

Valentine's day.
…I know that many of my followers may have heard me in school talking about how excited I am for tomorrow, which is my second favorite holiday (next to Easter). Let me tell you why:
Little is known of Saint Valentine, and his legend may be just that; religious fiction. But the man who in lore is called Valentine was a rogue priest who allegedly married couples in a time of religious...
