Philosophical Question of the Day
Why doesn’t the consecration occur at the beginning of the Mass Service for Catholics? If it is the transubstantiation that is the focal point of mass, and not the Homily, it could make better sense for it to occur at the start of the service. Afterwards mass can go on as usual, but perhaps some of the more bombastic priests would be a little less self-important when preaching in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. It would also give Catholic more time with the consecrated host to contemplate its mystery during mass. In this scenario, the host would still be distributed at the end of the service.
Just a thought that occurred to me, enjoy your Sunday.
